• If someone leaves the scene of the accident without exchanging details, call the police.
  • Get the names, addresses and vehicle registrations of any witnesses.
  • Exchange details with other drivers. Give each other your:
  • Name, address and telephone number
  • Vehicle registration
  • Insurance company and policy number
  • If you have a camera to hand, take photos at the scene of the accident. If you don't have a camera, make a detailed sketch of the area, noting street names, skid marks, etc. Write down any other information, i.e., if the other driver was using a mobile phone at the time of the accident.
